I think the minimum stay rule is applying incorrectly.

International fares have a 24 hour stopover rule and your 1410hrs arrival and 0900hrs departure equals less than 24 hours, so Sabre is pricing the itinerary as a roundtrip connection, rather than with a stopover.

Call AA and get them to price it correctly, or book something leaving LA after 1410hrs.
