I agree that the paper-ticket policy is re-purchase with zero refund or customer service voucher after the fact. southwest vacatoins is run as a totally separate company.

in the old days before printed at-home boarding passes, southwest made quite a bit of extra $$ when someone would drop/lose a boarding pass at the airport.

rather than reconcile the boarding list they just made people buy a 2nd ticket. made for some good airline! episodes.
