I've stayed at the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit many times. I agree that in the past, it had fantastic internet access. I used to download from the US at about 3 mbps typically.

The last couple of times I was there, the internet was usually mediocre, rarely ok, and often was crawling, such that I couldnt get faster than 0.3 mbps download speed from the US, which won't do.

Last time I stayed, I complained about this to the IT people who after much beating claimed that they were going to increase the speed of the internet in my room. I didnt notice any difference pre- versus post- their alleged intervention. When I mentioned this on checking out, they said that they had recently changed internet service providers and that perhaps the problems were related to that.

If anyone has a suggestion as to a starwood hotel (or if there are none, a non-starwood hotel would be fine too) in BKK with good internet, I'd be all ears.
