I did the simple test and it doesn't work....
Second simple test was to see if the battery declined while plugged in and it definitely did...
Third simple test, I noted the power level on a battery turned off the computer and allowed it to be plugged in for 30 minutes. It went from 70% power to 64% power when I turned it back on. You can draw your own conclusions as to how much juice is used turning the computer off and then back on.
Again, I am only familiar with American Airlines Power Outlets so I do not know how it might apply to other airlines, but I suspect they are comparable.
