My company passed out Inspirions during the last computer upgrade. I have a New Targus adapter and it doesnt work on planes but I could not tell if it slowed down the rate of discharge, but it definitely was still discharging when plugged in.

I ended up going back to my Latitude which has a 75W power supply. With the length of trips that I take, I have to have the "Juice"........
