I can understand booking an award for LAX-LHR-DME to be counted as US-Europe, but what about say if I wanted to go to VVO (Vladivostok)? Geographically VVO is in the Russian Far East so it'd make sense that it would be US-Asia 1 award along with Japan, Korea and Mongolia, but there are no direct Asia-VVO flight on S7, JL or CX; the only logical way would be LAX-LHR-DME-VVO

And if AA sticks by it's current Russia=Europe definition, that can mean going all the way from LAX to places like Vladivostok, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk via LHR and DME for as little as 20,000 miles one-way off-peak Y!
