I use the AS elite/FC line at the north end of the airport all the time without question. The central security area is more for CO elites, WN "A" flyers and the Horizon SEA/PDX shuttle.

Keep in mind that the central security area is almost always the most lightly used any time of day. And remember that every security checkpoint leads to all gates so you can find the smallest wait or go to the north end and enter with your DL credentials on an AS boarding pass.

The south security checkpoint, closest to DL, is almost always the longest wait any time of day.
