This reminds me of Saturday 28/Sunday 29 March 2009, when the clocks went forward in the UK for BST, and Mrs PtF was flying BA CW HKG-LHR - having connected from a CX MNL-HKG flight.
I thought I would surprise her and meet her at LHR T5 on the Sunday morning so, without telling her, I flew CAI-LHR on the Saturday and went to sleep early that night to drive from our Dorset home to LHR T5 early on the Sunday morning.
Before going to sleep I set the alarm on my mobile phone for 3:15AM, and also manually re-set the phone's clock one hour ahead. However I hadn't bargained on the phone automatically changing to BST - so the alarm woke me at 2:15AM instead!
