There won't be much mainland tourists for a while given the current political issue. I wonder if they would let you join JGC if you get the status this way. I could have made ANA match my status due to corporate contract my company has with them. But since I couldn't join SFC even if that's offered (no Japanese bank account) I figured it doesn't worth it.
