I understand your frustration regarding your points/miles. I know your posts references a hotel in the UK, but since you fly AA I'll presume you're from the US. After 1 or 2 emails failed to do the trick, why wouldn't you call in to get the issue resolved? Your reference several hours of your time - honestly, this seems like a bit of hyperbole - writing emails, but you failed to pick up a phone which may have solved the issue.

In the end, this could go either way. Should Hilton's customer service be a bit better? Yes. However, you say yourself that you've had 49 pleasant stays this year.. and you're willing to leave over an incident that was due to a keystroke error?
