Answering the question about child fares...

If the child you are adopting is an infant (under 2 years) and will be a "lap baby" (ie, you will not purchase a seat for him/her). Then fare charged is 10% of adult fare for class-of-service that you are seated in. Note, seated in, not 10% of the fare you paid. If you upgrade with miles or VIPOW from coach to business, infant has to pay 10% of business fare.

If child is between 2 and 12, or you want to buy a seat for the infant, then fare will be either 67% or 75% of adult fare. whether it is 67% or 75% seams to depend on destination.

If travelling with infant, be sure that the airline knows this and request a bassenet. They may assign you bulkhead seat with a cot that can hang from the wall.
