If you are seriously considering taking J on CX, with AMEX Platinum or Centurion you have the option of buy one get one free. works out to be about $2500 a ticket.

Or if you are indifferent about airlines, CI you can take from LAX-TPE-HKG for about $1400 in J with their $350 each way J upgrade. With the AMEX deal it's about $1300 a person.
