How does this work anyway? Do you receive 3x additional miles in addition to the 100% bonus elite members get? If JFK-SFO is "x", do you get 5x RDM in total? If it's only 4x, with a minimum of an M booking, there are probably cheaper ways to get this many miles.

Incidentally, to add to the discussion about full planes = no promos, how likely is it that the lack of promos is because of the pending merger? UA may not want to rock the boat with the investors and regulators that need to give their approval. Sometimes companies are not quite so self-promoting during a high profile merger.
