To save a measely $10 vs. an AA coded ticket, I booked an AS codeshare DFW-PDX-SEA, with DFW-PDX operated by AA. I'm AA Gold, but can't request an upgrade on aa.com - am I stuck in Y for the flight? Can I use the kiosk?

Seems to be the dumbest $10 I ever saved, but I was already ticked about not qualifying the buy 3 promotion because of my SEA-DFW-PDX AA itinerary.

BTW, DFW-PDX-SEA is $500 one way cheaper than DFW-SEA full fare, that's even taking into account the $134 AS charges for the PDX-SEA hop.
