While in the regency club, numerous couples were discussing and everyone agreed they went above and beyond for a simple 'view' downgrade since most of the rooms are the same. Lets just say I would have jumped at $100 in resort credit and free regency club access let alone the extremely generous package they offered. But I guess alot of people earlier in the day turned it down because the check-in guy said they were getting nervous and adding to the package every hour since they didn't have any deluxe ocean front/view rooms left and didn't know what to do if someone (perhaps a diamond) demanded one of those rooms in lieu of their offer.
Why discuss and not disclose?
