Anyone else check in this week and experience the 'package' downgrade offer? all i can say is MAJOR ^ to Hyatt Maui management for putting together something that made it irresistible to not downgrade. Don't want to divulge too many details until checking out but lets just say it almost became a comp'd vacation!
While in the regency club, numerous couples were discussing and everyone agreed they went above and beyond for a simple 'view' downgrade since most of the rooms are the same. Lets just say I would have jumped at $100 in resort credit and free regency club access let alone the extremely generous package they offered. But I guess alot of people earlier in the day turned it down because the check-in guy said they were getting nervous and adding to the package every hour since they didn't have any deluxe ocean front/view rooms left and didn't know what to do if someone (perhaps a diamond) demanded one of those rooms in lieu of their offer.
Why discuss and not disclose?
