Why oh why do people think that its pointless to credit whatever you have to BD???
10000 miles on BD Diamond Club is still worth a lot more than LH M&M ... so keep accruing to BD.
I do. And I use my miles too.
Even with LH announcing the merging of DC into M&M, it will take some time and not immediate.
But if you feel that you want to bank your miles into M&M, then go ahead. Just produce whatever FF card you want at the check in, and make sure that its on your BP.
