Fare Difference w/Short Stopover, Is This Normal?

Hi Folks,

I'm preparing to book a LUX-NYC CW return around Christmas through the current sale promotion. My outbounds are both 12/22, with a return to LON on 12/30, and a return to LUX on 1/3.

The 1,560 Euro sale fare jumps to 1,780 when I choose any date later than 12/31 for the LON-LUX segment.

Is this standard practice?

Seems a bit odd considering I could buy a OW LON-LUX for 75 Euro and T-24 upgrade for 50-75 more if I so desired.

Not a big deal, regardless, but I just want to make sure this fare difference is SOP before I book.

Thanks,
Habemus
