It's "Not competitive" for the same reason DL can't fly you competitively from BOS-PIT... because connecting AA in ORD or DFW to go MSY-ATL or DCA-ATL is a huge detour! you'd have to be a real nut to want to go that way-- AA would have to drag you up to 3 times as far as DL going nonstop.
