Upon check in at the kiosk I was offered E+ for $29, it wasn't busy so I asked the agent at the ticket counter about E+ and upgrade list and all he said was "is the machine offering it to you for free?" I said no but that there was a memo stating that CO elites could be seated and put on the list. He then asked me, "do you see the memo here?" and I said well no and I would like to speak to supervisor and he said that she was in the gate area and that I should just check in with what the machine was giving me and see the supervisor inside and walked away. I replied with "I can't wait until the merger, thanks for all your help" in the most sarcstic way possible. Once I cleared security I found a GA that was just finishing up a flight and I said I could wait until she was done closing it out. She insisted on helping me and I explained the situation. She was aware of the new policy and asked me if it was official. I described it as a "soft rollout". No problem giving me an E+ seat but she did say she was having a problem adding me to the list. She said that her system was asking what "instrument I was using to upgrade"?????? Nevertheless I made it on the list. She was extemely nice and apologized for the problem at check in, so 1 for 2 isnt too bad I guess on a Sunday. Subsequent flight crew was very good with the service, I didn't even have to ask for a full can of soda, they just gave it to me. Great flight.
