No, but if you can merge 2 segments into 1, you could effectively get another segment to enter. ie - you don't need to enter YUL/YVR/SFO as 2 separate segments, instead you can just enter YUL/SFO, since there's no direct flight anyways.

Yes, first letter of the fare basis shows the booking class. Yes, this is L class = tango+.
