Just had a very unhappy conversation with "LaShonda" at Vinesse. I had purchased their wine lover's cookbook long enough ago for miles to have posted, but no miles had posted.

She said, initially, that the offer required joining a wine club and receiving the sign-up bonus, and read a statement to the effect that purchases earned miles thereafter. I said that I did not hope to receive a sign-up bonus, but I wanted miles for the actual purchase; she said that no miles could be earned without joining a club.

She asked me to consider joining a club. I'm not actually averse to this, except that I live in a "3-tier" state where shipping is slower and more expensive. I said I would consider joining the California Treasures club.

Then she told me that under the US Airways program, ONLY the American Cellars Wine Club qualified - joining any other wine club earned no miles, ever.

This is explicitly contrary to the US Airways launch page.

I am returning the cookbook and will dispute the credit-card charge.
