My student friends always tell me to goto the airport and standby for those cheap fare, something like 5% or 10% of the full fare. They said it is something airline offer students to fill up the otherwise empty seat.

I always heard people saying that but never actually find any informtion from websites or here...

Are those fare still exist? Is is really a deal or?
