Can anyone explain how AA will operate with 3100 fewer FAs. Were there too many?</font>
AA is flying almost 200 fewer airplanes today than at their peak following the purchase of TWA. AA has laid off over 6,000 FAs since 2001. AA has also laid off thousands of pilots and many thousands of ground personnel. Employment at AA is down more than 25,000. So, yes, there were too many FAs.
