Didn't this restriction end quite a few years ago? Remember when AA flew the all-first-class Fokkers from DAL-ORD and DAL-LGA to compete with (now bankrupt) startup Legend Airlines? Last I checked, Illinois and New York aren't adjacent to Texas.
