I've read here that The Andaman and The Datai are both too isolated.
The north coast (and north west in particular) has great forests sweeping down to the beach. However,Langkawi is not a big island and is very easy to get around. We drove to Bon Ton restaurant and back one evening (its south of the airport and disappointing by the way!). I'm not sure but I think you could get The Datai for your budget. Wherever you stay,make sure to visit the north west coast and enjoy langkawi.
