Just wanted to seek the advice / experiences of fellow Ambassadors / RAs who have stayed at the IC Singapore. I'm currently staying here till Tuesday, and booked a paid "Club Intercontinental" rate for 6 nights. On check in I was upgraded to a Shophouse suite but the Lounge staff have now twice asked for me to have a room change back to what I've subsequently found to be a Club Deluxe room. When querried, their answers on their upgrade policies have been as clear as mud which is why I would like to seek some clarification:
I have been advised that RAs like myself are entitled to a 2-tier upgrade and that would mean:
Club Room - Shophouse Suite (1 tier) - Premier Room (2 tier)
So firstly, by their own admission, I've only been given a 1 tier upgrade, but the reasons being cited for me needing to move to a deluxe room range from an alleged wedding party requiring use of the suites, to another alleged claim that guests had specifically booked and paid for all the suites in the hotel.
So my question is: is a Premier Room truely a 2 tier upgrade in the experiences of other RAs who have stayed here, or am I just being fobbed off with excuses for one reason or another?
Over the last few years my paid stays at the IC Singapore run into the tens of thousands of $ so I am a bit miffed at being treated the way both my wife and I have been. I will be trying to meet the GM to complain officially before I leave but just wanted advice from anyone who could give some, just so that I don't get my facts wrong before meeting the GM. Many thanks!
