Like RoyaltyBuff, I am organized and prepared to switftly "divest" myself of all my belongings, I do not do so in advance of getting into line.

I make sure to get to the table with enough time to "divest" without losing any time. I'm always ready to wlak through the detector as soon as the prior person is through. I always do a ceremonial pat-down to make sure I've gotten rid of everything and walk right through.

After security, I walk away and put my laptop back in my bag at the next gate, never in the security area.
