gardener, I believe you have this CY confused with another - the CY in York is new, but Lancaster is several years old

Thinking anything Sophiegirl says on the area rings true and recent so I was hoping she may grace me with her thoughts on the Courtyards in Lancaster and Harrisburg/Mechanicsburg. Sadly the FS Marriott in Lancaster is booked next weekend or I would have spent one night there for sure.
Unless you just want to change hotels, I would stay in the CY Lancaster for both nights. IMO, it is nicer than any other Marriott property in the Hershey area, except for the new SHS. And when you calculate distance, that is located almost as far from Hershey as Lancaster.

The drive from Lancaster to Hershey is super easy, and is quite pretty. The CY is on the west side of Lancaster, so is closer to Hershey than it might look on a map. If you don't have to, I wouldn't move. (of course, I would rather poke myself in the eye with a sharp stick than pack and unpack for one night.....)

And - SHS, FI and even RI are packed with fall bus trips for seniors, so are often quite crowded. Since breakfast is not free at the CY, they tend to not stay there, so you should be a little less crowded there.

I know the area well, and spend a lot of time there - so if you have other questions, please feel free to PM me.

Have a nice time.....it is a wonderful area for a weekend getaway.
