Does the system actually establish a data connection to any devices? I've pretty much assumed it's for power only, and actually, I'd be slightly less comfortable with plugging in my iPhone if I found out the system was trying to talk to it.
Never tried connecting a PC to it, but my BB always asks if I want to enable mass storage mode when I charge with the USB port on AC planes...seems to imply there is a computer of some sort behind the jack and not just a 5VDC source
