Kiawah Island is our vacation destination as well. We have never stayed at the Resort (rent a large house, private pool, etc.) but we make a point to eat a nice dinner (no kids) each time we visit...at the Sanctuary.

Ocean Room is very, very good but very formal (Jackets requested). As mentioned, very conservative in feel but both seafood and steak selections do not disappoint.

On our most recent visit, last month, we tried Jasmine Porch. Wanted to be a bit less formal, and I'll be honest, we enjoyed it more than Ocean Room.

Service in all cases was top notch.

We routinely walk the grounds there on our vacation, bike through them, etc. as well as eat there, and I highly recommend it. My wife just LOVED being able to look out over the ocean while eating...
