Regarding the use of 'you guys', how was it used?

I can think of pleny of sentences were it would be appropriate, and indeed with 3 adults in the group, I think it possibly speaks more about her being cautious to use other more descript terms incase they are wrong, etc.

Please let me know how it was used though, as I am curious.
