I'm an AVIS First customer for this first time this year. I just started getting these free weekend coupons for car rentals at Avis. But I see they're not valid in the "NY area". Why not? It seems that lots of discounts, promos, coupons, etc. are not valid in the "NY area". This is hugely disappointing as that's the one place I fly to for leisure weekends and could really use a free weekend car rental. So now I'm sitting on 3 free weekend rentals, am flying to EWR this weekend, and can't use a single one?

I searched but couldn't find a previous discussion on this. Appreciate any help or guidance you can provide. Thanks.
