If you are travelling with kids I think the County Hall is going to feel more like the center of London than GS or GH or RCC. For my kids big Ben, the Eye and the Thames are London. Going for a walk along the South Bank or walking thru Westminster by gaslight and back across the river is what they remember. That and the playgorund by the Eye.
