Glad we agree on RCC distance, but I can't let this slur on my "knowledge" lie.
Come out of CH through the bar, turn right and walk north along the embankment to Hungerford footbridge; cross the river (using the bridge) then walk up Northumberland Ave to Trafalgar Sq: 13 mins (0.7m).
Alternatively turn left (or even exit at the main entrance) and cross Westminster Bridge and walk up Whitehall to Trafalgar Sq: 16 mins (0.8m).
Not sure how you got 25 mins (it's only a 27 mins walk from CH to RCC; though thinking back to my last stay at CH the room did seem like it was 10 mins from reception)?
By the way, the route from RCC goes immediately past where I once lived, while the route up Whitehall goes immediately past where I once worked. Give up now!
