I agree that developers need to move away from Flash and that there are better options that work across all platforms that they should be doing. However, those changes aren't going to happen overnight, so why not support what's already there, as well as what's coming down the line as well?
Supporting Flash on mobile devices only slows its demise. Having one of the largest mobile platforms refuse Flash support generates complaints to the incompatible sites and can only help push them to develop a standards compliant site.
This approach definitely creates some inconvenience for the owners of those devices but, in the long run, it's a faster fix to the problem.
