Do you have any data points to support that claim, or are you simply removing it from your posterior and presenting it for general consumption (or, "another UA-forum-esque troll" if you will)?

AA has the most sophisticated yield management suites in the world. I suspect they know more than the college/"airport tycoon" crowd about what works and what does not.

Actually I do have some hard info. to show why MRTC and E+ don't work, but I would rather not share it. Suffice it to say that MRTC and E+ DO work if the airline can command a yield premium for its Y product; this isn't happenening on many routes, and hence the increased Y pitch concept has not proven to be as successful as planned.

If you were familiar with AA's management, you'd know that AA's financial gurus figured out long ago that MRTC would not delivered the promised benefits. However, certain of the company's management insisted on maintaining the product nonetheless. That element of AA's management has had its most influential member neutralized, and hence we are now witnessing a rollback of MRTC.
