I agree here. My company requires lowest fare of the day purchased. If you don't purchase lowest fare then you have to send a reason why you didn't (although unless your reason is bordering on ridiculous/suspicious then I've never seen this queried).
Easiest answer would be for NZ to only show Works fares to companies that use Business Direct online or another similar online corporate booking site. Of course for companies that have lowest fare of the day policy plus require you to book your own travel via standard channels then this could still pose a problem.
