Not sure what the story is here. It's pretty standard in employment contracts that discussion of compensation with anyone other than HR is a terminable offense. I would think talking about her salary in the media is a pretty clear-cut violation of this standard contract language.
Before everyone's heart bleeds out, consider the following:
If she's unhappy with her level of compensation, she could probably get a $20K/year job working retail... That would be a 25% (or more) pay increase, and enough to get her off food stamps.
Also, remember that an average flight attendant works 75 hours/month. Full-time is considered 172.5 hours/month...
