He told the LEO that since he had a CHL he was allowed to bring the gun on the plane with him. The LEO stood there silent for a moment (they were facing eachother on opposite sides of the x-ray machine, bag still in the x-ray) then he asked the passenger "did you sleep through the class where you were taught where you can't bring your firearm"?
However, you also know that you can have rifles and shotguns without a CHL. My joke was actually throwing back to that silly Michael Moore movie where he opens a bank account and gets a free rifle/shot gun (yes I know it was staged).
Not everyone who has a CHL should have one, just like not every TSA employee shoud be a TSA employee.
I've seen long guns given away for lots of events and wouldn't doubt some banks have given a few away.
