Monday departure YYZ-DXB was 6 hours delayed-- fair enough- but with us ALL on board for th whole time. No meal service during this time either. We arrived just under 6 hours late -- groggy and tired at 130am it then took my priority tagged bags 1 hour-- and |i woudl guess 90% of passengers had got bags and gone by this point.
Reason for delay-- at departure time captain said he had a small technical problem that shoul d take 15 min--, and true enough 15 min later he comes on to tsay we fixed the glitch but now the tug is broken down, shoul dbe 15 min or so-- and we then push back, taxi for about 5-7 min and stop for about 15 minutes, captain then comes on says there is problem with engine 3, and we have to go to the gate, that is where we sat and sat, fairly regular updates form the captain and we eventually left the gate at 3:42am-- 6hrs after the original departure time.
i have not yet written to voice my concern of this delay and not sure I even will . It seems the 380s are more prone to these type of delays.
Would you go for comp on this??
finally receied the email and found this line very interesting:
I am concerned that your bags took a prolonged period of time to reach the baggage carousel on your arrival in Dubai. Our records show that as you checked-in for this flight just minutes to flight closure, the priority container was sealed.
Is that not fairly normal (It was 65min prior to departure) for most FF-- especially in a premium cabin. And if all the containers were closed I would have thought then last on first off
