My home airport was JFK before March, and now ORD. From these home airports, to places I go in Europe and Asia, I find AA to be quite competitive on price. On top of that, I haven't flown coach on AA international flights in several years with only 2 miles+copay upgrades needed to cover what SWUs did not.
