Hi all,

I am flying Mexico City to Detroit on Wednesday PM, overnighting in Detroit, then on to Boston on Thursday AM. This is part of an award ticket booked RT Mexico City to Boston. The return is all same day on Saturday (BOS-JFK-MEX).

I want to use the same day confirmed to get all of my flights to Boston on Wednesday, probably to go MEX-ATL-BOS.

My question is whether Delta will allow this or instead see this as a stopover (as opposed to a layover). Will same-day confirmed work if such an overnight exists. Can I even use same-day confirmed on an intl itinerary?

Also, I am platinum, partner has no status, both award tickets booked using my miles. Do we pay nothing or just once for her change?
