AMS-HKG on Sept 12, my wife was given lounge access during check-in, no upgrade as all cabin classes are fully booked. Last minute at the gate, they were looking for 2 volunteers who will not board as it is overbooked, me and my wife ended up volunteering our seats in exchange for 600euros cash each, and we were put on the next BA flight from AMS-LHR then connect on CX250 LHR-HKG arriving HKG at 1245, which is just around 6hrs more than the direct AMS arrival at 7am.

LHR-HKG they tried to put us in J but F,J fully booked, economy is around 75% load so we were given a seat blocked for us. We were presented champagne, chocolates, and card on board

Still in HKG now and will take the CEB flight on the 15th, hopefully an upgrade this time, but if not, the 1200 euro compensation took care of all our meals for 2 weeks in Europe.

Before i forget, i have to say the AMS staff is superb, amazing, helpful and knowledgeable, they did not leave us until we boarded the BA flight and made sure everything is all right before leaving.
good for you... I have to starting planning my 2nd honeymoon as cxfan1960 mentioned.
