I think he could fly SQ's 747 (in any class) from JFK that stops in FRA and then SIN, then catch the regional back to BKK.
OOPS! I missed the award ticket part. That being the case I would first see if I could snag an award on NH's new 777 from JFK if I was traveling in F or C.
For *A awards it comes down to calling your FF program and asking them what *A award seats are available and I would make sure to have them check the partners.
My upcoming trip was booked via Aeroplan. From IAD there seemed to be choices on LH, UA, and TG mainly for F class. And also NH C class.
