I'm starting a weekend-only 2.5 year graduate program in a different state, and negotiated an "extended stay" rate with one of the local Hiltons. (So, I'll be spending my weekends there for 44/52 weeks for the next 2.5 years.) I just stayed my first two nights and received zero HHonors points, and the Hilton Reservation folks tell me that I do not qualify for any Hhonors points (or stays) as this is an extended stay discount.

My classmates are all pricelining each week for nearby hotels at half the rate of my negotiated rate...but, I really like the property, like some stability as far as where I sleep each week, and was looking forward to becoming Diamond. Have others experienced this? What is the best way (if any) to handle this?

Did you discuss this with the hotek when you negotiated the rate? The hotel can give you points and stays if they choose but it may be up to them.
