Given your recent experience, and the fact that you've been going through T3 without any trouble for at least the last 20 trips, I think that's good enough for me -- I'm going back to my B&R 22". Perhaps some of my trepidation, now that I think about it, is that I have had quite a few BA flights in and out of LHR as well, and BA is quite a different story. Thanks for the feedback.
