Your best *A connection would be the US shuttle from LGA to DCA. However, Amtrak is really the best option. The Acela trains do the trip in 2:45 and are very reliable. The Regional service is a little bit slower, but it's become much more reliable and is a relative bargain. The cheapest options will be buses, but they're slower than the train and subject to traffic congestion.
