Many thanks to all the contributors to this thread, the journey starts tomorrow after having to reshedule from March due to industrial action with BA.
We haven't as much time available now due to work pressures so our trip has been curtailed to 13-16 Sep San Francisco, 16 Sep Monterey, 17 Sep Pismo Beach( poss?) 18-20 LA prior return from LAX.
We will hire a car from downtown SF on 16th and take a long slow drive south on route 1.
Hoping for a great relaxing trip to California.
