American Airlines and American Eagle will consolidate all of their flying at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) in the recently renovated Terminal 4, beginning June 3, making it much more convenient for customers.
"We can operate much more efficiently from just one terminal as well as save costs," said Art Pappas, American's managing director - LAX. "And our passengers will find it easier to come and go from just one spacious facility, which we have completely renovated. The new Admirals Club, which opens later this year, will be convenient to all of our club members."
American and American Eagle have expanded significantly at LAX over the past three years, and now employ about 5,000 people with a payroll of nearly $250 million a year.
In June, American will restore a ninth daily flight to New York's JFK airport, and will beef up its Hawaii seasonal service with additional flights to Kona and Lihue. This will give American 89 flights a day from 12 gates in Terminal 4. In addition to its extensive domestic schedule, American also offers a daily trip to London's Heathrow Airport and to San Jose del Cabo, Mexico.
American Eagle will operate 71 flights a day, with its customers beginning and ending their trips in Terminal 4.
