During the week the CBD is middle managers going for a beer in their suit because they look important, and on weekends it's people from the Western Suburbs coming in for a big night on the p!ss (both these groups are representative of Ivy's clientelle). Surry Hills, Paddington, Balmain all offer far better nights out than the city, food and drink wise.

This is so true. Excellent analysis BenSyd.

The comment about the Establishment being the scene for middle managers during the week, and for western suburbs visitors on the weekend is right on.

Everyone has their favourites, but in my view you can't go past the Golden Sheaf in Double Bay. It is only a pub, but on Satuday night it plays host to many of the better looking denizens of the Eastern Suburbs.
